The Citizens Field of Dreams is just that….a dream of thousands of inner city youth, coaches, teachers and mentors….a superb inner city youth baseball, softball and sports facility….for the neediest youth….in a disadvantaged neighborhood. Citizens Energy Group has committed 28 acres of land to Play Ball Indiana for the purpose of developing a sports complex at the site of the old Twin Aire Drive-In movie theatre.
The Citizens Field of Dreams will bring state-of-the-art sports facilities to the near southeast side, a economically challenged area of the city. Boys and girls of all ages, families and neighbors will all be able to walk to and enjoy this sports and recreational facility. Local schools will have excellent sports facilities to use. Neighborhood youth will be able to jump rope and play dozens of games. Older teenagers and young adults
will have employment opportunities, and as the Citizens business park takes shape,
more and more new jobs will be created around the sports facility helping to revitalize the entire area.
